Digital Content and the 21st Century Teacher

This week I read that Encyclopedia Brittanica is ending its print version. It will be continuing online versions, but will no longer be printing encyclopedias. When I read this for the first time, I realized that this is another sure sign that digital content is here to stay. While we still love books and reading, we cannot ignore the impact that digital content has on today’s education.
So let’s consider… are we teaching our students to find quality content online? Are we helping them learn to research in online libraries? Do we as teachers learn on the internet? We cannot continue to teach the exact same way we were taught as children. It is time to bring computers, tablets and other technology into our classrooms, our lessons and our curriculum.
