Welcome to this dual course aimed to help you understand more about common core assessment and evaluation. This dual course consists of the following 5 hour courses:
- Assessment Strategies for the Common Core
- Student-Centered Learning
Assessment and Evaluation are crucial processes that directly or indirectly enhance learning among students. This course is aimed at helping teachers with detailed assessment strategies. It also provides information on the two assessment consortia PARCC and SBAC and its adaptations in the classroom.
The section on Student-Centered Learning is designed to reduce teacher-directed instruction by increasing student-led learning activities. It explores the potential of technology and tools that can be used to enhance the teacher’s role in a student centered Classroom.
This course is rich with interactive templates, learning logs, tools and research-based strategies that can help teachers change their leadership styles from directive to consultative.
