New Year Resolution

As we make new resolutions to lose weight, watch less TV, or finish reading that book we started, I would encourage you to consider making at least one goal or resolution related to your life as a teaching professional. As teachers we often make goals for our students or for the classroom, and are quite familiar with the process of reviewing to check if goals or objectives were met. However, in our own lives we are often not as diligent.
Professional resolutions can be as simple as getting organized, implementing a new strategy or learning a new skill. Why not decide to focus on learning about any one aspect of your teaching or topic, so that you are an expert on it by the end of the year? These resolutions will not only help you grow as a teacher, but also help model a learning attitude to the students that you teach.
