Do You Have A Classroom Routine?

We all have our routines, some intentionally and some that have just developed over time. There are things we tend to do the same way every single time- like what we do when we wake up, or how we make our coffee. Routines can help us get organized and ensure that we don’t miss what’s most important. Most of us don’t give much thought to what our routine could or should be.
This week, I encourage you to reflect on your morning classroom routine. What are some things that you think you would like to do every morning before you start teaching? Clear your table? Open the windows? Or spend a few minutes looking at your schedule for the day? There may be many things that you would like to do on a regular basis, and getting those into your routine is a great start.
So plan your routine, and then, time it. Next, make sure you get to your class early enough to complete all the things in your routine. Stay committed to it for a month, and soon it will become a natural process.
