We live in a world in which social and academic expectations are high, and suicide is sometimes seen as a last resort for those who are deeply feeling pressure and finding it difficult to cope.

Most schools and teachers are not empowered with tools and strategies to respond when a student attempts to commit suicide, or even expresses a desire to commit suicide. This course includes suicide prevention best practices for teachers and schools in line with nationally recognized evidence-based programs and practices and recommended by organizations that have successfully decreased the rates of suicide in schools and communities.
