Team Synergy

In the last few weeks I have been reminded a few times that when we work as an effective team, one plus one equals more than two. It has been exciting to be a part of a team where we are able to do more together than what we could have done individually. I’m learning that respect for each other, and good communication are important aspects of enjoying the team experience.
In classrooms and schools, opportunities to work as teams are few, and we often miss the fun of joining together for a common objective. If you are not part of a team yet- I strongly recommend that you try it. Some of you already may be a part of a team- maybe a professional learning community, or a school initiative. Are you enjoying it? What can you do to help your team build relationships, foster respect and communicate more effectively?

What are some things you love about the teams you are a part of?
I have had the fortunate circumstance to be part of team this summer. I am now a Invitational Summer Institute Fellow for the Inland Writing Project. I am very proud of the work I am doing now as a fellow. I see that it will transform my teaching. I am more than ready now for the implementation of the CCSS and NGSS.
