Apps for Education<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"AppsIntegrate Ruben Puentedura\u2019s SAMR model with Alan November\u2019s work on Transformative Learning to find the best apps to educate YOUR students. The integration of apps into education, may seem like a natural product of the times. However, successfully impacting students\u2019 learning, requires a whole new level of teachers\u2019 engagement and effort.<\/p>\n

Teachers will be equipped to go beyond using an app merely because someone else has recommended it and fully examine the true learning potential.<\/p>\n

To this end, teachers must take into account specifics, including logistics, ability to manage, content access, sound and image quality, all while evaluating individual apps. A comprehensive App Evaluation Framework, specially designed for the classroom context is presented for teachers\u2019 critical consideration of educational apps before deciding to introduce them to students. With an integrated approach, teachers can successfully consider an apps\u2019 connections with curriculum content and ability to amplify existing learning levels, while evaluating systematically their transformative learning capability.<\/p>\n

Cognitive Skills – Understanding Learning Challenges

The U.S. Department of Education, and others indicate that weak cognitive skills are the source of over 80% of learning problems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"CognitiveIn this course you\u2019ll come to understand the answer: students approach each task with varying learning tools. These tools are called cognitive skills, and these skills determine the quality, speed, and ease with which individuals learn and perform.<\/p>\n

This course provides methods for detecting students with weak cognitive skills and tools to strengthen those skills. Teachers will receive understanding, as well as ways to apply development techniques in the classroom. The online class is fun and interactive and includes information about new brain research and how it can impact today\u2019s classrooms.<\/p>\n

Differentiation for Gifted Learners in the Classroom<\/strong><\/p>\n
