Hola and welcome to this blog post which is highlighting an online interactive course for teachers as an introduction to Spanish.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Spanish speakers LOVE it when people who are <strong>non-Spanish speakers try to learn<\/strong>, and use, the language. <span style=\"font-size: small;\">You  will find that as your Spanish language skills improve you&#8217;ll be met  with increased acceptance from native speakers and the Spanish language  speaking community at large.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Non-native English speakers contend that English is  harder to learn than other languages because it is not always phonetic,  and has many words that look the same but with different meanings.  Consider these examples:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The bandage was <strong>wound <\/strong>around the <strong>wound<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> The farm was used to <strong>produce produce<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> The dump was so full that it had to <strong>refuse <\/strong>more <strong>refuse<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> We must <strong>polish <\/strong>the <strong>Polish <\/strong>furniture.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> He could <strong>lead <\/strong>if he would get the <strong>lead <\/strong>out.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> The soldier decided to <strong>desert <\/strong>his dessert in the <strong>desert<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> Since there is no time like the <strong>present<\/strong>, he thought it was time to <strong>present <\/strong>the <strong>present<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> At the Army <strong>base<\/strong>, a <strong>bass <\/strong>was painted on the head of a <strong>bass <\/strong>drum.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> When shot at, the <strong>dove dove<\/strong> into the bushes.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> I did not <strong>object <\/strong>to the <strong>object<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> The insurance was <strong>invalid <\/strong>for the <strong>invalid<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> There was a <strong>row <\/strong>among the oarsmen about how to <strong>row<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> They were too <strong>close <\/strong>to the door to <strong>close <\/strong>it.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> The buck <strong>does <\/strong>funny things when the <strong>does <\/strong>are present.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> A seamstress and a <strong>sewer <\/strong>fell down into a <strong>sewer <\/strong>line.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> To help with planting, the farmer taught his <strong>sow <\/strong>to <strong>sow<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> The <strong>wind <\/strong>was too strong to <strong>wind <\/strong>the sail.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> After a <strong>number <\/strong>of Novocain injections, my jaw got <strong>number<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> Upon seeing the <strong>tear <\/strong>in the painting I shed a <strong>tear<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> I had to <strong>subject <\/strong>the <strong>subject <\/strong>to<\/span> <span style=\"font-size: small;\">a series of tests.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">I spent last <strong>evening evening<\/strong> out a pile of dirt.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Spanish,  on the other hand, is <strong>easy to learn because it is phonetic <\/strong>and one word  cannot be mistaken for another.
