Organized Mornings

Check Out the New Blog Elementary school teacherMaking breakfast, packing lunches, looking for that library book- all at the same time. In most homes, mornings are chaotic and full of activity. We finally get to work and barely have time to take a breath before we need to start interacting with and teaching a whole group of children.

Each home is different, and I’m not trying to say that mine is stress-free every morning, but there are some ways we can bring some of this chaos under control.

If you are a “morning” person, try getting up an hour earlier to get some of your tasks done before the kids wake up. And if you are a “night” person, maybe you can pack lunches the previous evening and put them in the fridge. Plan what you are going to wear the night before hand. And, try keeping a checklist of the things you need to take to work.

As your morning routine gets organized, you will find that you feel more energetic and enthusiastic. Try it, and let me know how it works.

What are some ways you make your mornings more organized?

I make my mornings more organized by preparing the clothing that I am going to wear for the week on Saturday or Sunday evening. Also, I plan my breakfast and lunch for the week by purchasing them in advance and knowing what I am going to eat on what days. Items that can be placed in my lunch bag are place there the night before. Additionally, anything that I am carrying to work is placed in my car the night before. So far this has worked very well for me and hopefully by sharing my routine will help others.
